I Love Polymer Clay!

How would you describe polymer clay to your potential customers? 2013 people are concerned and conscience about going green, organic, and lead free.Sue Counselman There is no getting away from polymer being far from green and organic, but perhaps modifying some of the words used to describe it might get your customer to focus more on its application as an artistic medium and less on what it's made of. "It's a manmade substance that behaves like modeling clay and can be cured to a permanent hardness using lower temperatures than ceramic and earthen clays" sounds better than "it is a chemical compound consisting of polyvinyl chloride and chemical plasticizers."465 days ago

Welcome everyone! I just posted a blog about a new clasp I designed - I like it very much. If you do, then I hope to see it in your work!

Relentless pattern - I sometimes fall into this. Hey, if this much is good, more is better? Well, sometimes that may be true but not always. If you find yourself looking at a piece and that question pops up in your mind, remove something. My newest necklace originally also featured pods that were primarily cream with a pattern, that question did pop up in my mind so I removed them!

Hey, all, I just started a folder of the work I will do in 2013 - great way to have some record (which I currently don't, everything is mushed up together!). Take a look, here is the latest necklace I made, a series of black and cream pods with a bright red clasp!

For those of you just starting in polymer clay. Here is a tutorial teaching the basic two part Skinner Blend. Judith Skinner introduced this technique to the polymer clay community and polymer has never been the same.

HI everyone! Every thing I know about polymer clay is through osmosis!

Hey, Peg!
-
I am so excited to see a new group about my very favorite medium!!
-
-
Hello, I just started this group - it's all about the clay. Kato, Fimo, Premo, you name it, if it's a short name that ends with an "O" it might be a polymer clay.
I got hooked a long time ago - I blame Nan Roche and "The New Clay". Seriously, who knew what these little blocks of color could do? Thanks you, Nan.
The current trend seems to be natural. Nature forms. I've posted some of mine!
Do you love Polymer Clay? I do! It's the most versatile medium of all. This is the something for everyone medium. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. It's exceptionally well suited for those of us with short attention spans and an enthusiasm for trying everything that's new! This group is also for those of you who dig in and doggedly pursue some aspect of polymer clay.
Ask questions, make comments. Inspire and find it when you need it (we all need it sometimes!).
Cheers,
Donna Kato
