Sarah Shriver's Caning and Blending Techniques in Polymer
-
I downloaded the fishbone class and have a question about attaching the magnets at the end of the bracelet. I understand putting the end in the half hole with glue on it and pulling the elastic tight on the first side of the magnet because you can pull it entirely through the bracelet. But how do you attach the second half of the magnet on the other side of the bracelet?Jeanne Harlan-Marriott Hi Carla,
You may receive a quicker answer if you ask this question within the class. To do that, hover your cursor over the navigation bar - on the extreme right there is an "up arrow" which opens a popup menu on which one of the options is to ask your instructor a question.
Sounds like a really interesting class!!!

I'm working on the polymer clay master class book and your tutorial is next, I will admit I'm a little intimidated!

I will be trying to learn caning and milleflori in the next six months and look forward to learning from you all!

Hi Sarah,
I love your work and when I saw that you would be teaching at Clay Carnival I knew I had to be there. I am looking forward to meeting you and learning from you. -
I downloaded your class last night and had a couple of questions about building skinner blends; do you recommend metallics in the blends, or not? Also, do you ever use translucents in them?
I'd also love to see more advice on HOW to select colors for blends. Do you premix samples to see how your blend colors interact? What leads you to know what colors will and won't work together?
I've worked with polymer clay, building complex canes for over 20 years. I want to encourage students to experiment with some of the infinite possibilities that pop up using this rich and amazing process.
