Veronika Sturdy
Veronika is a fully and truly addicted polymer clay artist born in Czech Republic and living in UK now. It all started accidentally 5 years ago when she tried to find 'ceramic clay' on the Internet and found 'polymer clay.' That night she spent hours of research being hypnotized by the colorful world of polymer clay. She recognized the endless possibilities of this media and never came back. Since then, she made a few necessary changes in her life like quitting the job, setting up the studio and started to teach and create polymer clay jewelry.
Her favorite techniques are more surface techniques rather than cane work. She prefers bright results full of color, mostly achieved by alcohol inks, acrylics, alcohol pens, etc. Her jewelry is very colorful and quirky.
Veronika took ceramics courses in the Stanmore College in London, the Metal Clay course in London Jewelry School, went to workshops of the biggest names of Polymer clay. She published in From Polymer to Art and was invited to Czech TV Nova Morning Show to have a demo about polymer clay.
Having an IT University degree helps her to be one of the admins of London Polymer Clay Group website, run the ‘LPCG’ Facebook page and her page ‘Fimovani s Veronikou’ with almost 2500 fans. She works on her own book and teaches regularly now in CZ.
