Tracye Chin Mueller grew up in the suburbs of Long Island, New York. As a child, she loved to explore as many art forms that were available to her at the time, including calligraphy, which earned her enough spending money that she did not have to babysit! She studied and received a BA in Graphic Design in 1984 at Rhode Island School of Design and worked as a graphic designer for 8 years until the birth of her first child.

After years of working in polymer clay, wire, jewelry, and glass mosaic, needle felting is a fairly new medium for Tracye. She had never heard of needle felting until seven years ago when her young daughter asked to try it. Now it is Tracye's primary medium.. Her favorite pieces to create are her realistic and often life size birds. She enjoys requests for any type of animal, real or imagined, along with inanimate objects.

Tracye has taught classes locally in many mediums including mosaics, wire basket making, jewelry, beading, wet felting and needle felting. She sells her popular needle felting kits worldwide along with her birds and animals in her Etsy shop. Her work has been featured in Better Homes and Garden Do It Yourself Magazine.
