Ellie Hitchcock

Nothing makes Ellie happier than to see the light bulb go on in a student's head! She loves experimenting and seeing what happens if. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't, but the fun is in the experimenting and the possibility of coming up with something new and exciting. She especially loves teaching art to children. Her challenge has been to find interesting projects that can be done for minimal cost. Ellie want teachers to be able to implement some of her projects in their classrooms affordably.

Ellie has created projects that are very cost effective for teachers. She plays around with materials and figures out the best and most economical use for them. She loves working with polymer clay and many of her projects have a polymer clay component. She is careful to measure exactly how much clay the teacher will need for each child and tries to keep the cost to 50 cents/child! But then she adds other things like fiber, fabrics, found objects, things that won't cost the teacher a lot of money, things they can find around home.

Ellie grew up in an artistically talented family and was surrounded with creativity. She has taken classes and workshops focusing on polymer clay, mixed media, beadwork, fiber arts. She love learning new things and likes to incorporate them in her work. Ellie's work has been in several gallery shows and won several awards.
