Being a polymer clay artist for nearly 30 years has been one of the most soul satisfying adventures in the life of Shane Smith. She has had success in many mediums, however once she discovered polymer clay, it quickly became her focus.

In the 90's, Shane made a living producing and selling a line of polymer clay angels. Shane's Angels became a popular collectible line and were soon sold in 23 stores in ten states. In addition to producing her line, she also participated in art/craft shows, galleries, and licensing agreements with catalogs and gift manufacturers.

Shane's work in caning, sculpture and angels has been published in at least eight books over the past 15 years. She is one of the founders of the Colorado Springs Polymer Clay Guild and has taught many classes in clay as well as marketing. In the years after Shane's Angel's, caning and beads have become her specialty, even as she explores the seemingly endless techniques, born daily, by others who have discovered this amazing medium.
