Mud Cloth Inspired Necklace with Donna Kato

In this 4 part Intermediate Level class, students will make 4 Mud Cloth Inspired canes, one simple thread cane, learn how to use metal foil, the disc beads, the dual magnetic closure and assemble the the components into a finished necklace. Video clips in class and a 58 page reference handout included.

Polymer clay in the following colors:
• Black - 2 large bars.
• White - 1 large bar.
• Yellow, Brown, Copper - 2 - 2 ounce packages.

• Metal foil
• PolyPaste
• Clay Blade - Nublade
• Needle tool
• Pasta Machine
• Ruler
• Deli paper
• Baking soda in a pan
• Small ceramic tile
• Coarse and medium grit sanding blocks
• Lotion
• Assorted drill bits, you need a bit same diameter as magnets and a bit the same diameter as the buna cord (I'm using a pin vise with a 2mm bit)
• Magnets for closure, two sets
• 2 ft. buna cord and o rings (I’m using 2mm buna) - 2 per bead strung
• CA glue
