"Inspiration is all around us; in everything we see and experience, it's just a matter of how one perceives the world, and what things make us happy and fullfilled." -That's what you'll hear if you ask Nikolina Otržan where she finds inspiration and ideas.

Nikolina dived into polymer clay some 15 years ago, just out of curiosity, drawn mostly by range of fimo colors and the possibility to make something pretty within the comfort of her home. Since at the time she couldn't get her hands on basic tools such as pasta machine or a clay gun, her only tools were needles and razor blades, and that hadn't changed for many years.

"It's very frustrating having lots of ideas you cannot implement without specific tools" - she once said. She had almost given up at one point, but her passion prevailed. "And finally we live in times when everything is available to us, anything we can imagine is just a click away," she would say with a huge grin on her face. Nikolina loves learning and teaching new techniques, discovering new ways of developing her ideas into her pieces. Everything in her work depends on inspiration in that particular moment and there is no particular technique she favors.

Her work has been featured on Polymer Clay Daily on several occasions and she recently opened her Etsy store called "Orson's World," named after her cat Orson. Since she also has her day job which takes her to sports, she mostly plays with polymer clay during the night, instead of sleeping.
