Milena Scarcella

Milena Scarcella lives with her husband and her three dogs in a quiet country house in Italy, surrounded by the green countryside of the Sabine area. She spent her youth drawing, painting, sculpting and testing each and every form of creative technique. She graduated as a Fashion Designer at Fashion and Lifestyle European Academy of Rome in 1997 and began her working career collaborating in several Ateliers in Rome. At the same time, she also enriched her education by taking many craft courses in various mediums.

Milena has been working with polymer clay since 1998, when she was looking for materials to create her own jewelry line. It was then that she realized that this would be her future! Polymer clay was the perfect medium to translate her visions into real objects of fashion. She began sculpting, studying colors and surfaces treatments, and merging painting effects with polymer clay virtues to find her own unmistakable technique.

In 2010 Milena opened her firm Mirù Design, specialized in the production of polymer clay jewelry and home accessories (frames, mosaics). She participates in the Craft Fair in Milan and she is a member of the prestigious Visioni Hall at “Art,” International Crafts Fair in Florence. Since the beginning of 2011, Milena has also taught workshops throughout Italy, and she published polymer clay tutorials in Italian jewelry magazines. She teaches private lessons from her home in Sabina and now she wishes to share her techniques and experiences worldwide through CraftArtEdu.
