Laura Moradi

Two young children and a small apartment left Laura Moradi with no room for a traditional jeweler's studio. Using this obstacle as inspiration, she began wire wrapping in 2011. Wire is now Laura's favorite medium and she loves to share her enthusiasm with others.

Laura believes in a streamlined approach to design. Every element should have a purpose and relate back to the whole, from the focal element to the smallest jump ring. Indeed, findings are somewhat of an obsession of hers and she prefers to craft her own. Using simple hand tools Laura makes earrings, necklaces and bracelets from all kinds of wire and beads in a style she refers to as "refined boho."

Laura received her BFA in Jewelry and Metals from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002. She worked for a number of years as a bench jeweler where she continued to refine her skills. Laura currently sells her own jewelry and handmade findings on Etsy under the name Bronze Age Jewelry. The name refers to her love of ancient jewelry, a major influence in her work. Laura has also won numerous design awards, including a Bronze Medal in the Fire Mountain Gems 2013 wirework contest, for her necklace "Dali Does Paisley."
