Jana Roberts Benzon

Jana Roberts Benzon is a jewelry designer and polymer clay artist whose innovative designs are influenced by tribal textiles, ethnic and floral motifs, and Asian ornamental art. She has become known for her precise and complex geometries of Polymer Clay Millefiori cane work, which she calls “Arabesque” caning, and for her attention to detail and fine craftsmanship in her finished art jewelry pieces.

Jana is an artist with 30 years experience working in fiber arts, jewelry design, beadwork, watercolor, and various modeling compounds, in addition to her complete immersion in the amazing medium of polymer clay. Jana has a passion for teaching, and has been influencing others to nurture their own artistic expression for nearly three decades. She has taught polymer clay workshops internationally, and has also shared her knowledge through articles in Art Jewelry Magazine, Belle Armoire Magazine, Step by Step Beads Magazine, Polymer Café Magazine and others. She has been a featured artist in Five Magazine and Beadwork Magazine, and has had her work shown in many books, including 1000 Jewelry Inspirations. She also produced two instructional DVDs, “Arabesque Caning” and “Secret Shapes Inro.”

Jana's work has been awarded prizes in several competitions, including The Washington Bead Museum, Bead and Button Bead Dreams, and the National Polymer Clay Guild’s Progress and Possibilities.
