Karen Woods

Fiber arts of all kinds have been an integral part of Karen's existence since she can remember. She has been a weaver, dyer, quilter, photographer, beader, papermaker, and basketmaker. Each craft influences the ones to come. Her designs in polymer clay reflect in large part weaving and quilting techniques.

Teaching complex canework techniques in polymer is what really makes her heart sing. Showing others the possibilities of this material and how it can relate to fiber arts, weaving, and sculptural forms is a driving force in the work Karen exhibits.

My work has been published in 400 Polymer Clay Objects, Adapting Quilt Pattens to Polymer Clay, and numerous magazines. Most recently her pieces have been juried into National Basketry Exhibits, Bead and Button Bead Dreams, and The Kentucky Museum of Art Polymer Clay International Exhibit.
